Hard Chair Stories was adapted from 3 short stories by Nick Burbridge, based on real life traumatic events. Aine dramatized the three narratives, interweaving the monologues and  creating powerful resonances between Burbridge’s tragic and darkly comic characters. The brooding semi-darkness of Marlowe and Shakespeare’s original Rose Theatre provided a chilling empty space where just 4 chairs (one a wheelchair) and 3 actors wove a compelling, horribly funny and shocking web of love and loss. The production transferred to Upstairs At Three & Ten (Brighton) as part of the Brighton Festival Fringe.
